Minutes of the Executive Council of the IHS. Correspondence with lawyers, veterinarians, clergymen, state officials, policemen, businessmen, educators and the general public discuss every aspect of child and animal welfare. Correspondence with numerous social welfare and medical institutions. Subjects include: Union Stockyards, appointment of humane agents, the Humane Conference at the World's Columbian Exposition, International Maritime Conference on animal welfare, horse ambulances, Bands of Mercy, American Humane Society, dog pounds, juvenile court system, child abuse and much more. An estimated 127,000 case reports for complaints of abuse, the investigation and outcome. Business records include investment information, bank books, receipts and ambulance service accounts. Published material includes copies of the IHS publications: "Humane Journal" and "Humane Advocate" as well as other pamphlets and literature.
